KRYSTAL TSAI
Architect at KPF, London
Collaborator at Fourteen AM
Krystal (ARB, RIBA) is a registered architect trained and practicing in London. Krystal received her professional education from the Bartlett School of Architecture, where she graduated with distinction and was awarded the Bartlett’s Adaptive Technology Prize for her Master’s thesis. She was also awarded the National Student Awards’ Women in Property Prize for design excellence in the London region.
She believes every city has its own unique scales. While themes and concepts may migrate from different contexts and cultures, they are always anchored by the specifics of places and the people who experience them. She views her work as a medium to convey that design
should not only serve functional purposes but also evoke a deep connection to its context, bridging the past with present. She aims to uncover the hidden potential of spaces, crafting moments that resonate on both a personal and cultural level. Krystal challenges conventional design by experimenting with various techniques throughout the making process, using crafts and models to achieve intricate details regardless of project scale, from micro to macro.
Ar. SHAWN TEO
Senior Associate, DP Architects Pte Ltd
Shawn has been a firm proponent of practice research, based on his dogma that architecture might just be more in its limitations. Typology has been his panacea for design exploration and this dovetailed with DP Architect’s ongoing efforts in typology study groups which came into focus in 2014. Shawn is a key member of the practice’s Hospitality typology study group.

Aside from practicing architecture, he also enjoys the rigour of design research and exploration and has been involved in academic research and architectural publications since university. These include leisure contributions to The Singapore Architect, and academic journals such as Built Environment. He also co-authored the DP Architects: 50 Years since 1967.

Shawn has exhibited and presented his design thesis and Masters’ dissertation in Taiwan and Hong Kong respectively in 2016. He also completed a cross disciplinary research on ornamentation of the Straits Chinese and the production of heritage through the Tun Tan Cheng Lock Scholarship in Architecture which was also presented at the inaugural International Conference on Material Culture, Malaysia in 2021.
Till now, he continues to question the subtext of regional aesthetics and the Asian Century. Shawn is a registered Architect with the Board of Architects, Singapore. He is currently the project architect for 24 Peck Seah, The Standard Singapore, Conrad Singapore Orchard and a number of other hospitality and conservation related developments in Singapore.
